My Story

My name is Tyler, and I'm the creator of Golden State Kicks.

I've been collecting sneakers since 2010, but everything changed in 2015 when I saw Stephen Curry lace up the Under Armour Curry 1 "Dub Nation." The moment I saw that shoe, I knew I had to own it. Looking back, that single pair sparked what has become one of the most unique Golden State Warriors sneaker collections around.

Growing up, I was always a Warriors fan. With my parents being from San Francisco, I grew up rooting for the Warriors alongside the 49ers, Giants, and Sharks. Although I now live in the Pacific Northwest, I still make it a priority to see the Warriors every chance I get, whether that's catching them in Portland or making trips to Chase Center.

Over the last year, Golden State Kicks has grown beyond a personal collection. Today, it's a community of nearly 11,000 followers on TikTok, where I share rare pickups, sneaker history, reviews, and live discussions with fellow Warriors fans. This website is the next step in that journey. A place to document the collection, preserve its history, and share it with fans around the world.

These aren't just sneakers. They're pieces of history.

More Than Just Stephen Curry

Most Warriors collections focus on a single player. Golden State Kicks tells the story of an entire franchise through the sneakers worn by the players who shaped it. From Baron Davis and Monta Ellis to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, Kevin Durant, Andrew Wiggins, and beyond, every pair represents a chapter in Warriors history.

OVER A DECADE OF COLLECTING

Every Pair Has A Story

To most people, they're just sneakers.

To me, they're moments frozen in time.

Every pair in my collection is connected to something unforgettable. Klay Thompson's legendary 37-point quarter. Stephen Curry breaking the NBA's all-time three-point record. Kevin Durant's first season in the Bay. Draymond Green... well... kicking Steven Adams in the nuts.

Some moments defined a dynasty. Others sparked debates that fans still talk about today. Every shoe represents a chapter, and every chapter has a story worth remembering.

Because when you know the story behind the sneaker, you're looking at much more than a pair of shoes.

"I CAN DO ALL THINGS"

My Favorite Pair

If I could only keep one pair from my entire collection, it would be the Under Armour Curry 1 “Dub Nation.”

Originally released on May 22, 2015, the Curry 1 “Dub Nation” quickly became one of the most iconic colorways of Stephen Curry’s first signature shoe.

For me, this shoe means much more than a colorway.

When I first saw the Dub Nation, I knew I had to have it. I had just finished collecting Jordans after five years of chasing releases, but I didn’t own a single Warriors sneaker. This was the pair that started everything.

I still remember release morning. The shoes dropped at 7:00 AM on Under Armour’s website, and I was sitting at the family computer with my mom beside me, phone ready, giving us the best chance to secure a pair. She had spent years helping me build my collection. From waiting in line for Jordan releases, standing with me for hours before Warriors games hoping for autographs, and now helping me buy my first pair of Curry’s.

We got them.

The following year, I had that same pair signed by Stephen Curry before a Warriors game in Portland. It transformed an already special sneaker into the centerpiece of my collection.

Today, the Dub Nation colorway represents everything I love about collecting. The white, blue, and yellow colors are still the ones I’m always searching for.

This pair didn’t just start my Warriors collection.

It started Golden State Kicks.
